Presle Stephane 2003
The animation I chose to blog about this time doesn't really have a title and if it does, well I can't seem to find it. So, I think I will give it its own name:"Unsuspected FBI agent." However, during the end of the movie, a small text pops up and it reads Presle Stephane 2003, but it seems as though it would be the creator and not the name of the creation. I am not sure, maybe this is a method of animation... no titles?
Right away I could tell the style of this animation, the story however, was very difficult to recognize.
Basically, it seems as though this animator doesn't know how to draw objects and humans very well, the characters were very sketch-like and (in my opinion) badly drawn. They didn't have human faces; instead the features were replaced with simple drawn lines. The bodies weren't detailed and very basic. The same went for all of the components of the flash, it seemed as though an 8-year-old kid drew this animation. (Side note, If, a kid did draw this than good for him/her) But, if an adult drew this, than I personally feel it is a little bit too childlike and basic.
Moving on, I found it very difficult to figure out what the story line might have been and even now I really don't have a good idea. Basically what happened is some character (I believe a male) robs a band or what seems like a bank and at some point picks up a "thing" from space. The two of them seem to be running from a cop and to escape they hijack a rocket. However in the end, the character that robbed the bank is caught by what you would never guess is an FBI agent, this bird like figure that seemed like it was run over earlier in the animation.
Towards the ending of this animation is the robber going to jail while the "thing" from space is returned to what looked like a cloud. Then, the last scene is the bird on a remote island shooting an astronaut that suddenly (and for no reason I can see) appears on the island from a rocket.
I do not understand how this animation became a runner up in Flash forward, but then again that is only my opinion and I can appreciate the amount of work that went into this video. Perhaps that is a reason for its apparent success?
The color pallet is very basic, light tones and at some points no color at all. There really only seemed to be 3 colors, brown (or tones of it), dark green, and at one point a pinkish color toward the end. This is disregarding the obvious black outlines and fill too much of the characters and objects.
This animation just wasn’t that appealing to me, but it did do a lot of things right, such as music that went along with the animation well. The music was strange and different, just like the animation, so it fit well.
I do like the fact that all the elements of the animation went together, each component worked with the other... for that I will say this animation was in the least good.
